I have just enetered a writing contest.   This time I didn't submit poetry but part of my book about my ex husband.  I haven't submitted this before as the suject matter is a little yucky.
Parts of it can be found in blog format here:
http://firesidewoman.blogspot.com/2005/12/i-used-to-tell-myself.html
Warning though, t's not a nice read.
(I've cleaned it up a bit and submitted it as a story rather than a blog fomat)

Anyway wish me luck, there is a cash prie which would be really nice to win!

I don't really honestly like this. It seems designed to make you look like a victim of someone else, which makes you look like you do not have the powers that I have since long times since seen in you. But I know you do!

To say that "this person hurt me" or this person did me wrong is not
an honest-mind and enlightened point of view! - I hope you don't find
this offensive, but meant to be in best and most honerable intention?

I understand what you are saying May, but the point of this, of writing this, which I did a few years ago was to heal myself.

I needed to remember these events (as opposed to supress them and then have nightmares) so that I could heal me.   Which I mostly have done.

As stated at the end, (of the story/submission which you can not see in the blog) all of these events were needed so that I could learn what I needed to learn.  So  I am not writing this in a plea for attention or so that I can be seen as a victim.  I am showing that I survived and healed and fluorished, and others can, too.  No matter how dark and gloomy they might feel their situation is.

And..
the subject matter was pertinent to the contest specifications ...

so wish me luck! (eh)

I would suggest writing that kind of stuff was processing for Lori: a lot better than bottling it up inside

A therapeutic way of helping to clear energy

I do not feel there is anything to be ashamed of a person (any person) being a wounded healer

It also has a human touch and the vulnerability is very human

I would suggest without processing, a person may experience difficulties in moving onto a higher vibrational level

eg: a person "may" (or may not) find Light without processing

But there is such a thing as letting go too soon

And that even if a person does find Light with less processing, it may be a "Light" of less intensity and less depth.

If a person wishes to develop spiritually with regard to depth and character, there is such a thing as letting go too soon

All people have free will to choose their own path

Thanks for sharing, Lori

So, now you have evolved into the "wounded healer?"

Beautiful move. People talk about "sin" which is a missing of the mark,
but what do you do when it when it hits the target dead-center and the
wounded and the healer are revealed as one? Wink

naturally, i wish Lori Anne luck.
certainly, i read the - cautious? - thoughts of the other posters.
uneasiness, my own, comes back.
for such wounds to really heal, one needs much more than any return to "normality" would suggest.
a contest cannot be the way to overcome for me.
i need to trust. i am cautious, yes, but that's already unhealthy.

Overcoming comes in bits and pieces for me.  Thanks for your input lavender.

fyi,  I didn't win the contest.   Did get a few emails back from the admins,  though.
