Just imagine that you could enter a world of your very own while dreaming that is just as realistic as your waking world. This world is completely safe, you can do, be, practice and learn anything your heart desires. There are no limits in this world, no boundaries, the sky is the limit as to what you can accomplish here. If you can dream it, in this world, you can be it and you can do it!
A lucid dream, also sometimes referred to as conscious dreaming, is a dream in which you know you are dreaming. You may say to yourself at some point in the dream "I am dreaming, so I know I can fly." or "I am completely safe to do whatever I want in this dream!"
Do you want to fly across a canyon soaring as free as an eagle? Then you can! Do you want to learn to play the piano just like you've always wished you could? Then you can! Would you like to be able to talk to your boss, face to face with all the courage in the world? Then you will! Do you want to run your first marathon or learn to sail a boat? Then you can! Anything and everything you set your mind to do is possible in this world! Anything you want to make, be or do you can make and be and do here, in a lucid dream.
Do you want to see through walls, breathe under water, run like the wind or fly with the birds? Lucid dreaming is your way to achieve all of these things! And best of all, it is a great practice ground for doing things you'd love to be able to do in real life, but just can't quite seem to muster. Once you've practiced in a lucid dream, your body and mind will already believe that you can and have done these things, so it will be that much easier to carry out in waking life.
If you do a dress rehearsal of a meeting with your boss wherein you ask for a raise in a Lucid dream, by the time you get to the meeting in real life, you will already feel as though you have done it and you will breeze right through it, no nervousness and no anxiety at all. You will feel as though you have done it a hundred times before and you will have the courage to ask for that raise! And get it!
While it may seem far-fetched at first, Lucid dreaming is a skill that you can learn and once acquired can be used for living out fantasies, practicing problem solving or dress-rehearsals of important situations in your life such as employment situations, family and relationship issues and more! It can also be used to train your mind to stop bad habits such as quitting smoking. It can be used to stop nightmares, release old fears that no longer serve you such as fear of the dark or fear of heights, release obsessions and work toward new healthier life patters.
Truly, there is nothing that can't be done in lucid dreams and no life problem that can't be tackled and solved through the use of lucid dreaming techniques. Professional athletes and actors have been using Lucid dreaming techniques to practice their sport or rehears their performance for years. As mentioned, once you accomplish something in a lucid dream, your body and mind actually feel as though you have done this in real life. Repeated attempts and practices while lucid dreaming have the same effect on body and mind as if you were actually performing, or rehearsing in real life.
Lucid Dreaming can also be used for personal or spiritual exploration. You can uncover aspects of yourself that have been hidden to you for years. With exploration within the lucid dream, you can align your shadowy aspects with your waking self to create a more balanced and harmonious self. Truth be told, there is no end to the types of things we can do in Lucid Dreams. If it is within the realm of your imagination it is completely possible in a lucid dream. Lucid Dreaming is truly a dreamers greatest treasure!
